Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moor is a Hollywood writer and actor that has won critical acclaim for her skills. Sagittarius by birth, Julianne Moore was born on December 3, 1960 in North Carolina. She's the eldest of three siblings who were born in the home of Peter Moore Smith, a paratrooper and Anne psychologist. The Moore family is English, Scottish and of mixed descent. Moore's father was a mover frequently due to his job. It was difficult for her to make and keep friendships. After her family relocated to Germany Moore was a student at Frankfurt American High School where she was first a part of productions. The Boston University is where Moore finished her education, earning the B.F.A. from 1983. She played the roles of Sabrina Hughes and Frannie Hughes in As the World Changes the show that marked her debut. She stayed on this show from 1988 to 1990 and received the Daytime Emmy Award. She made her film debut in 1990 with Tales from the Darkside: The Movie the film she described later as an awful low-budget film. She was in Short Cuts (1993) and 3 Women (1997) both films by Robert Altman. The films were critically acclaimed and Moore was nominated for multiple awards. Moore played her first main part in Safe(1995). Steven Spielberg gave Moore her first lead role in Safe (1995). The year 1997 was when the career of the actress surpassed a crucial point. Moore was chosen in the role of Jurassic Park: The Lost World. This movie became one of the most popular films in 1997. The year 1999 was the first time she won an SAG award for her work in Magnolia. The Hours starred Moore in 2002. It was also nominated by the nine Academy Awards along with Nicole Kidman. Additional movies Moore has appeared in includes The Forgotten (2004) Freedomland (2006) Shelter (2010) as well as Shelter. Non-Stop was her film of 2014.
